A little bit about me. . .

Hello! My name is Madeline Gibbs, and as I said, I'm an author and artist based in Eastern North Carolina.

I love all things dark, spooky, gothic and macabre. Mary Shelley, her mother, Mary Wollstonecraft & Charlotte Brontë are my heroes; Alien and the original Dawn of the Dead are my comfort go-to films and I adore reading about badass women who didn't take 'No' for an answer.

I was born in Manchester, UK, and lived there for a decade before relocating to the SW of Germany to a beautiful city called Karlsruhe. There, I attended the European School, passing the Baccalaureate with flying colours.

After graduating high school, I returned to the UK. This time, however, I made Leeds my home as I enrolled in the Child Nursing course at Leeds University. 

​

I passed several years in Leeds but eventually, I realised Nursing just wasn't for me, I left and returned to my hometown and spent the next few years working in Manchester before moving to York. (York is an absolutely stunning city, FYYI, and I highly recommend anyone reading this to visit!)

Whilst living in York, I met my husband and in 2016, I relocated to his home in Eastern North Carolina!  And. . . I've been here ever since!

I do work a full-time job as well as being a mother, wife and author/artist. I absolutely love my life now and wouldn't change it for the world.
